Title: plugged wet bulb lines
Post by: Craig Jensen on June 19, 2012, 10:14:17 AM
Does anyone have a trick they use for cleaning out wet bulb lines that are plugged with scale from hard water?

I really hate to tell you this, but the only thing I have found that works, Is to cure your hard water problem and then replace your lines.. I had fought and fought this in Grangeville Craig. We put in a softener, and all the troubles seemed to go away!!!

We use that flex line with quick connects so that if we do have to replace water lines it's  a quick fix.  We've had pretty good luck with that (although I have had a coupler come apart a few times).  We also went from 1/8" water lines to 1/4" lines.

We have had good results with 3/16 Teflon flex line.  The installation can be a bit tricky for avoiding kinks but, if you are careful it will last a long time.  This has eliminated our corrosion problems between the copper tubing and aluminum kiln skin for the last seven years.  We have had no problems with scaling yet.
