Boiler / Kiln Supervisor -- Plummer, ID

This position supports the swing shift and/ or weekends. The Supervisor is team-oriented and possesses strong communication skills.  Our supervisors provide leadership and tools that encourage their teams to grow into and beyond their positions. This supervisor is a leader in demonstrating safety in all areas. This position oversees the operations of the boilers and / or kilns while providing pro-active maintenance of the boiler equipment.

Your accountabilities…
  • Provide overall direction and maintenance planning of boiler and boiler-related equipment which includes:
    inspections, reports, materials, specification preparation, fabrications, drawings, procedures, cost control, availability improvements, operational improvements, audits and evaluations
  • Drive proactive safety behavior, leading by example and holding employees accountable for unsafe practices. Actively engage in safety meetings to continually communicate comprehensive safety practices that target and identify potential hazards.
  • Serve as a catalyst of continuous improvement by challenging quality, safety and production through project justification and goal setting.
  • Actively lead crew meetings to improve teamwork and group alignment and set quality and safety expectations. Effectively and efficiently manage teams through overtime and shift scheduling.
  • Innovatively approaching problems through team engagement to determine effective solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and alignment of mill operations both vertically and horizontally to set job, safety, and quality expectations.
  • Effectively manage employee and team performance to create an environment in which employees are valued. Hold direct reports accountable to expectations and goals through coaching, and written feedback, including annual and midyear job evaluations. Provide a regular presence on the manufacturing floor, working with your teams.
  • Ensure continuity of production goals and execution between departments and shifts.   
  • Develop effective and positive working relationships within the plant, as well as other functional areas within the business.
  • Communicate consistently and effectively to ensure continuity of production goals and execution between departments and shifts.

Your qualifications…
  • Minimum of five years in a supervisory role of a 24/7 facility, with strong safety and CI experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working with boiler equipment.
  • Quick thinker with the ability to adapt to new situations and proficient at absorbing and comprehending new information.
  • Demonstrated record of successful safety performance.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Electrical power generation experience desired
  • Wood drying experience desired
  • Background in maintenance planning desired.
