Kiln Drying for Hardwood Lumber is a basic course designed for kiln operator trainees, plant managers, and supervisors. No previous drying experience of training is necessary. Instruction will include lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on experience. Wood moisture relations, kiln operation, and drying schedule preparation will be emphasized in relation to drying of hardwood lumber.
Scott Weikert - Penn State Extension educator with nine years of experience in hardwood lumber manufacturing, including extensive experience with drying hardwood lumber.
Lee Stover - Partner and lead consultant at L & E Stover Enterprises. Lee is also a retired Senior Research Assistant from Penn State University. Lee has over 30 years of experience working with the hardwood industry through his work at Penn State.
