    Pierre Asselin graduated from Laval University (Bachelor in Applied Science, Forest Engineer) in 1980 - specializing in Wood Sciences technology.  For over 30 years, he has provided kiln drying consulting and training as well as consultation to lumber mills regarding development of lumber products. Most of his consultation and training focused on kiln drying start-up operations, on-site training of mill personnel, development of quality control strategies and program, as well as product development for appearance and value added products (flooring, decking, sideboard, etc). He has preformed very specific work in processing innovation (from tree to finished product) for less common species like Tamarack to introduce it in appearance, high value products. He has been involved in a European exploration missions to identify and analyze best vacuum drying technology processes for the Eastern Canadian lumber industry.  The last 10 years Pierre has had more involvement in hardwood mills, wood flooring and appearance-category products.     Je suis ingénieur forestier (Bachelier en Sciences Appliquées, Université Laval 1980) spécialisé en sciences du bois. Formateur-consultant en séchage du bois et développement de produits depuis 30 ans avec l’Industrie du bois de l’Est du Canada.  Travail dans l’industrie en usine, démarrage d’opérations de séchage, formation du personnel et développement de produits du bois d’apparence (planchers, patios, lambris). J’ai travaillé particulièrement les procédés de transformation de l’arbre jusqu’au produit fini pour le développement d’essences exotiques comme le Mélèze afin de générer des produits d’apparence de haute valeur. Missions Européennes d’exploration des technologies de séchage sous-vide pour transfert de technologie au Canada. Plus d’implication dans le secteur bois franc et bois d’apparence les 10 dernières années.
